Ahoy, Gillian!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel page with your question!
On our last Walt Disney World vacation, my daughter really got into collecting pressed pennies. We had so much fun searching for penny-pressing machines, and expanding her collection to include pennies from all the parks! The only downside to collecting the pennies was all the spare change I had to lug around in my bag. It was completely worth it to see her face light up every time we'd stumble across a machine in a corner of a store or in a hallway at our resort. (There are ways to find out where all the machines are, even websites devoted to it, but we liked the element of surprise!)
Unfortunately, at this time, there are no pressed penny machines on the Disney Cruise ships or on Disney's private island,
Castaway Cay. We've found another activity that we enjoy on a Disney Cruise - Pin Trading! You'll find pins in the onboard shops that are exclusive to the Disney ships, and there are plenty of cast and crew members that participate in trading. On most sailings, they'll offer an Officer Pin Trading Event - a chance to meet the officers of the ship, as well as trade pins with them. What fun!
It won't be much longer until you'll be sailing away on the incredible
Disney Magic. Please let us know if you have any more questions as you prepare for your cruise!
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
