We are cruising on the magic in January 2025. Is the Dine & Play program an option during the late dinner time?

Ahoy, Elizabeth! How exciting that you’ll be sailing on the Disney Magic this month. I’m as happy as Winnie the Pooh in a “hunny” pot that you decided to stop by planDisney with your question before you bounce on board.

I completely understand why you’d be interested in the “Dine and Play” option for the later seating time at dinner. Little sailors tend to finish their meals more quickly than the adults at the table and may want to wiggle back to the enchanting activities offered at the youth clubs on board. Unfortunately, the program is still paused and I do not have a date for when it might return.

That being said, I’ve sailed with kids of all ages and still prefer the second dinner seating for several reasons (mostly because it gives us more time to enjoy the ship's pools and slides before heading back to our stateroom to get ready for dinner!). One thing I appreciated when my kids were younger was how our servers always had some of their favorites ready at the table when we arrived for dinner after getting to know them the first night. Whether it was a bowl of fresh crayons, their favorite drink, or some grapes in a cup, these little details helped the kids settle in as I poured over all the delicious offerings on the menu that evening.

And even though I’m a little too old for the Oceaneer Club, I’ve still been known to start my dinner in the dining room with a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. In the past, I’ve also created unique ways for our kids to get to know the Cast Members, like a bingo game or a questionnaire so they can learn how to say “hello” in the native language of our servers.

Another tasty choice (especially if you opt for extra pool time) is to grab something to eat at the Duck-In Diner on Deck 9. They offer options for everyone in the family and you don’t even have to change out of your swimsuit.

Finally, don’t forget about the complimentary room service available 24 hours a day. Yes, you can even get Mickey Ice Cream Bars delivered directly to your stateroom door! (Did I mention how much my family loves this sweet treat?)

I hope that gives you some delicious ideas. If you have any other last-minute questions before you sail away, don’t hesitate to come back here to planDisney. We’re always happy to lend a hand!

    Embrace the Magic,
    Sami
