Hi, Lisa!
The normal 'mom' stuff seems to be stuck on us, wherever we go! My purse is like a magic hat - full of wonder and surprises, that somehow even saves the day... and that has happened on many occasions! Does this sound familiar to you? "Whew, good thing I had 'that' with me in my purse!" LOL!
When I'm out and about on the cruise ship, I usually have a small purse on me. I have one that will hold my On-Deck essentials: Key To The World Card, Small Camera, small Walkie Talkie and a folded up Personal Navigator.
The Key To The World Card is all you need for any and all purchases while onboard -- so you can leave your wallet in your stateroom. I always have my small camera with me -- as an alternate, I take my smart phone sometimes. There are always characters walking around the ship, so having a ready camera comes in handy. Plus,I love taking photos of random items on the ship too. My 2 kids are normally out and about, and we use a 2-way radio (walkie talkie) to check in with each other, every couple of hours. Just to make sure they are staying out of trouble :-). And lastly, I always take a Personal Navigator with me, to make sure I don't miss any of the onboard activities, events and venues.
If you're thinking of an even lighter load -- I would suggest using a lanyard to keep your Key To The World Key in. You really don't need anything else other than that. Just remind everyone in your family to meet up for the show or at the dinner table that evening. There are Disney Photo Pass Photographers around the ship, always willing to take your pictures (I just like having my own handy camera on me!). And you are good to go!
I hope this helps, Lisa!
Have a an awesome voyage on the re-imagined
Disney Magic!
