Cruising in a few weeks and wondering how early we can board the ship. We are thinking of taking a car to the port from the DW hotel and want to know how early we can arrive at the port.

    Hi, Tracy!

Recently, the Disney cruise terminal at Port Canaveral has changed their operating hours. Therefore, I would double check with the cruise terminal before you arrive to get clarification. Yet, I'm fairly certain that the parking deck and terminal have moved the opening time for departing guests from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. -- which may make a huge difference for you.

The last time I sailed out of Port Canaveral was in the spring when you could check in around 11 a.m. and board as soon as 1 p.m. However, with the new opening time, the check in procedures and boarding times may vary a little. I still advocate getting to the terminal as soon as possible in order to get on the ship as early as you can. I've done it both ways and prefer a little chaos in the terminal in order to get on the ship sooner -- rather than a breezy check in and feeling like I'm late to the party once I'm on the ship.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction, but since things have changed a little, it's best to confirm by calling before you leave. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.

    Bon voyage!
