Ahoy, Ancy! I am delighted to welcome you back to planDisney as you prepare for another unforgettable family vacation aboard the most magical ship at sea.
One week from today, my family will be boarding the
Disney Treasure, and I am excited to explore the spaces designed for teens. My youngest just turned 14, so he falls within the age range for both
Edge (ages 11-14) and
Vibe (ages 14-17). Last year, he was 13, and he was able to hang with his brother in Vibe, an exception
Disney Cruise Line may make, depending on capacity and with parental consent.
At 13, your daughter will love Edge, and you may also want to check in with Vibe on the first day. They make exceptions to allow 13-year-olds to attend this club if there is space available (depending on the number of teens on the ship) and with parental consent. You can tour both clubs during the Open House time and see which environment is better suited to her. As I said, my son went when he was 13, but were it not for his brother, he would have enjoyed being with kids closer to his age in Edge and activities designed for middle schoolers. But that's him, and all kids are different.
Your daughter will have a great time in the teen clubs. The counselors do a phenomenal job balancing engaging activities and free time. You can find the activities listed in the Youth sections of the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. There is one that I think is the most important, especially if your teen tends to be a little shy in new situations: the first-night icebreakers. The team helps youth transition quickly from the awkward introduction to the "fast friends" phase.
Ancy, if you have any other questions as you prepare for that magical "Welcome Aboard," we are always happy to
sea you here at
planDisney!
Adventure Awaits!
