Welcome aboard, Kathy!
So great to hear that you'll be cruising with Captain Mickey very soon. You and your young buccaneers will have such a blast on the Disney Dream. The
Arr-cade onboard the Disney Dream was frequented by my kids as well. My son bumped into several of his new friends from the club there, and it quickly became an option for a meeting place. Good thing, the kids had their introductions done at the Youth Clubs first... so it made saying 'hello' at the Arr-cade a little less awkward.
Similar to the rest of the purchases onboard, the Arr-cade has a cashless system. An Arr-cade card is required to play all the games. Your Key To The World Card is all you need to purchase a new Arr-cade card or to recharge one. The arcade games are on a play point system, so you can purchase a card beginning at $10 and get 500 play points. Each arcade game uses up 20 to 50+ points per game. Cards are also available at $20 (1000 play points + 500 bonus points), $30 (1500 play points + 1000 points) and lastly the Magical Value card at $50 (2500 play points + 2500 bonus points). There's lots of great games for kids and big kids (yay for retro games!). Wearing a lanyard is convenient, since the kids can slip their Arr-cade card and their Key To The World card into the pocket for safe keeping.
Isn't it wonderful that you can catch up on all the latest Disney movies while onboard? When we sailed 2 weeks ago, the movies showing were Guardians of the Galaxy, Frozen, Maleficent, Million Dollar Arm, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Planes: Fire and Rescue. November 7, is the release date for Big Hero 6 and it will likely be premiered onboard too! Check the Personal Navigator for schedules. We've seen premieres at midnight - so I'm hoping that they offer the same on your last evening.
Bon voyage!
