We are cruising with Disney in May 2015. We are planning to stay at WDW the night before our cruise and returning to WDW afterwards. Can you tell me what time we might get to the ship if we use Disney transportation and what time we might return to WDW?

    Hi Kelly -

A land and sea vacation -- your travel itinerary sounds just like how my family and I traveled a couple of months ago. It's a great combination and you will all have a blast for sure!

Disney Cruise Line ground transportation is definitely the most convenient way to get from your Disney Resort to the Port... and then from the Port back to your Disney Resort. The magic just continues and it takes a lot of the hassle away. Included in the ground transportation is luggage handling. If you arrive the night before embarkation day, you will get a letter in your Disney resort reminding you of check-in luggage pickup for the following morning. At our last trip, our check-in luggage was picked up by bell services at 8 am on embarkation day. You'll need to make sure that your DCL luggage tags are attached, since your luggage will be delivered straight to your stateroom that same afternoon. Our meet-up time for the motor coach pickup was at 11:00am at our hotel lobby. Our bus needed to do 1 more stop for a few passengers before we were whisked away to Port Canaveral. We arrived at the port before 1:00pm and was able to check-in and board the ship a few minutes later.

On disembarkation day, we usually have a leisurely morning and enjoy our sit down breakfast. We like to take our time leaving the ship - maybe because deep inside, we never want to leave! The ship gets cleared at around 7:30am and guests do leave in waves... folks usually leave anytime between 7:30 and 9am. The motor coaches are easy to get to from the baggage claim area and you'll be on your way back to the Disney Resorts in about an hour after boarding. When we cruised the last time, we were one of the last to leave the ship... we arrived our Disney Hotel at about 11:30 am since our bus had to stop by 2 Disney resorts along the way to drop off guests.

I hope that this information helps, Kelly. Enjoy every second of your upcoming vacation. ~ Dolly
