Ahoy again, Jo Anne!
So glad you came back for another helping of Disney Cruise Line advice. Boy, if there’s one thing that I am sure of, there is never a shortage of food on a Disney cruise! Rest assured that Guests with
special diets or dietary restrictions will be able to have their needs met with the ample offerings. Sounds like you have already done one of my first suggestions, which would be to
notify Disney Cruise Line or your Travel Agent to have your dietary needs noted on your reservation. Well done!
Mmm, you’ve also asked about one of my favorite experiences:
Room Service! And guess what? It’s included in your cruise pricing and offered around the clock. This is an excellent way to snack between meals and keep everyone’s bellies full, and I am sure there are both lactose-free and gluten-free choices available.
I will say that Guests with dietary needs are usually best accommodated at Table Service restaurants. You can still find gluten free and lactose free options at Quick Service locations and from Room Service...just be sure to ask! Since your
rotational dining team travels with you to a new dining room each night, they will continue to be aware of your preferences. They can also provide recommendations for what options are available and can give you the next evening’s menu so that you can pre-order your selections. They are also happy to offer dishes from another menu or can in certain instances modify a dish. The main point is to let Disney Cruise Line know your dietary needs, and the Cast Members will go over the top to ensure that you are satisfied.
And since you asked about ice cream, while there aren’t any guarantees that there will be dairy-free ice cream on board, you can certainly discuss your preferences with your server and they will work with the chefs to accommodate your needs.
Jo Anne, it was so much fun to DISH about food with you! Come back to planDisney if you'd like more MORSELS of planning tips. Hope your
Disney Magic at Sea voyage is worthy of a chef’s kiss!
Bon Voyage!
