We are cruising 09/2011 on Disney Dream as 1st-timers! How far in advance can we book our shore excursions? Does the Aquaduck have specific hrs of operation? Any idea how long the wait times have been? Can you suggest a good time to ride w/minimal wait? :)

    Hi, Faye!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the Disney Dream! Having just stepped off the ship yesterday, I can confidently report that she is ready for you and your family's turn to sail. You should be getting very excited as you plan and anticipate your vacation!

For Port Adventures, first-time Disney Cruise Line guests can book up to a couple of months in advance of sail date as long as your cruise has been paid in full.  You can do that on line through the planning center or by calling (800) 951-3532.  Prior to booking or paying, you can go to the Port Adventures page and do all your research -- including saving any activities you wish to consider before booking later.

The hours of operation vary for the AquaDuck -- according to itineraries and by each day of an itinerary as well. Generally speaking, AquaDuck opens around mid-morning and stays open until about 8 or 9 p.m. unless there is a deck party. Your Personal Navigator delivered daily to your stateroom will have all the details!

As far as what I've experienced, the lines for AquaDuck can be as long as a 40-minute wait (or longer) with people lining up before the ride opens in the morning. Yet, if you wait until around lunch, you may can slip on with less anticipation. Of course, days at sea will be more crowded than days in port with the best chance of catching multiple turns on the day(s) at Castaway Cay. I hope that helps!

Have a wonderful day and a magical Disney Dream vacation. Bon voyage!
