We will be cruising on the Disney Dream in May. My 4 year old is still learning to swim. Is it best to bring his little life jack on the cruise so we can have it at the pool and Castaway Cay? Are we allowed to use it? Thanks

    Hi there, Scott!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  With your sailing fast approaching, I know you are excitedly counting down the days until you are off to sea aboard the beautiful Disney Dream and headed for a Disney Cruise Line adventure at sea!

Your family will have an amazing time and your four-year old will have an absolute blast!  My little guys pretty much love everything about a Disney Cruise Line sailing – from being transformed into Captain Jack at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on Pirates Night to the Oceaneers Club and Lab activities!  Not to mention the fun run-ins with their favorite characters – its always a delight to enjoy alongside the little ones and truly live the magic with them!

On the pool decks as well as at Castaway Cay you will find complimentary life jackets available for use, but you are also welcome to bring your own if you (or your little guy) feel more comfortable.  Honestly, we typically grab our puddle jumpers and bring them with us to guarantee that we have them, but they are most definitely available for your use if you want to free up some room in your suitcase!  Remember that on Embarkation Day you may not have access to your luggage until later in the afternoon so if hitting the pool is a priority when you get onboard (as it is with my family!), bring a day bag with pool necessities!  We always get onboard, grab lunch from Cabanas and hit the pools for fun in the sun!

I wish you a wonderful and magical sailing with many memories made at sea!  Say hello to Captain Mickey for us and come back with any other planning questions you have!

    Happy Sailing!
