Ahoy there, Parita! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you'll be returning to the ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet - and in just a few days! Well we've got no time to waste, so let's weigh anchor and answer your question!
I definitely know how you feel with all the changes in policies and health and safety protocols over during Disney Cruise Line's return to sailing! Even as a seasoned Disney Cruise Line specialist, keeping up with all the changes has taken planning to a whole new level! I'm sure you've had your eye on the "
Know Before You Go" information, so you'll likely have noticed that mentions of the requirement for parties with children under 5-years-old who are ineligible for the vaccine to be on a
Port Adventure to disembark are not currently on the site.
We've had a few questions about this recently, particularly as we get closer to the summer sailing season, so we sailed on over to a crew member to check it out (
thanks, Adrianna!). We were able to confirm that while the information has been updated, the policy itself is still getting updated and additional information on the updated policies for unvaccinated individuals disembarking in port will be released at a later date.
As that is the case, my advice would be to plan on your little sailor needing to be on a Port Adventure, but to chat with the Port Adventures team through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app as soon as you board. I'd also be sure to do a final check of the
"Know Before You Go: Ports of Call" information, specifically the part about the Bahamas' current health and safety measures so you know what to expect while on the island regarding mask requirements! Note, these restrictions do not necessarily apply to your time at
Disney Castaway Cay! You'll see references to the Bahamian Health Visa, but don't worry, that doesn't apply to cruises not originating in the Bahamas.
Oh, and since you're only one cruise away from Gold
Castaway Club Status - don't forget about the opportunity to book another cruise while you're aboard - or at the very least a placeholder reservation! You can find more information, - you guessed it - right in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you board!
I hope that helps you put the final touches on your packing list, Parita! Your crew is going to have an amazing time making magical memories, I just know it! Here's to an incredible voyage filled with a shipload of Disney Magic! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any last-minute questions before you embark on this adventure, you know where to find us here at planDisney!
Bon Voyage!
Andrew
