We are cruising on the Destiny ship 3/8-8/13 out of FLL. We have a party of 12. Are there cabanas on Castaway that accommodate 12 people? If so, how many?

    Ahoy, Jamee!

It looks like you are counting down to a spring break sailing on the MARVELous Disney Destiny! Your crew of 12 is destined for a magical week visiting both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. I love that this 5-night itinerary lets you visit these beautiful Bahamian ports of call and gives you plenty of time to explore this magnificent vessel. It will be a memorable March with Disney Cruise Line.

Jamee, two Grand Family Cabanas can accommodate 12 Guests (16 for an additional fee per person). There is one located on the Castaway Family Beach-the Sandcastle Grand Cabana #21, and one located in Mickey and Minnie's Cove-Mickey & Minnie Cove Grand Cabana #29. You can reserve these once your cruise has been paid off and your booking window opens. This date is determined by your Castaway Club status and ranges from 123 days for Pearl members to 75 days for first-time cruisers. If anyone in your party is sailing Concierge, they will be eligible to book at 130 days with the Concierge Shoreside team. I recommend that the sailor with the highest status book the cabana to better your chances, since they are popular. The stateroom that books the cabana will automatically be included, and you can add the other members' names to the reservation at Guest Services once onboard. If you don't have any luck at midnight Eastern when your window opens, keep checking online until 3 days before you set sail. I've seen availability pop up, especially the week before the cruise. Once you embark, I also suggest asking Guest Services about a waitlist.

When you reserve a cabana on Castaway Cay, you can expect comfortable outdoor and indoor seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, sunscreen, towels, cool face cloths, an outdoor shower, and a safe. You can also relax in a hammock and enjoy floats, snorkel gear, bike rentals, and sand toys during your stay. A cabana host will be checking in throughout the day. There is also plenty of shade, umbrellas, loungers, and beach chairs on the Castaway Family Beach, and snorkel equipment, bikes, floats, and tubes can be rented either before the cruise (Castaway Cay Getaway Package) or on the island if your crew is unable to secure a cabana before your arrival on Castaway Cay. It will be a beautiful day on the island no matter what!

Jamee, my fingers are crossed that you can reserve a Grand Family Cabana for your magical March sailing with Mickey. Please keep us posted if you have any other questions about your Heroes vs. Villains vacation on the Disney Destiny!
