I am cruising with my 5 children their spouses and my 15 grandchildren - my question ? Do the boys ages 3 to 14 need dress pants for dinner - will the men need coats? collared shirts? HELP

    Hi Eileen,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  It sounds like you are the honorary cruise director for your family on this voyage...and I see a lot of luggage in your future!  Most of the dining will be "cruise casual", which lends itself to a pretty wide interpretation.  Personally, I have my son wear casual pants (chino/Docker style) or dress shorts along with a collared shirt and a belt.  My husband typically wears casual pants and an oxford or collared shirt.  Jeans are acceptable for the "cruise casual" evenings, however tank tops and swim wear are not.

As for the semi-formal evenings, we tend adhere to our interpretation of "cruise causal" as I'm a firm believer that it's not necessarily what you wear, but how you wear it (and carry yourself).  You will see men and boys in suits and ties, but you'll also see an equal amount in dress pants and collared shirts.  I think with the new restrictions on luggage, guests are trying to make the most of their space with interchangeable outfits.  So as long as you present yourself in a semi-formal fashion, won't feel out of place!  Jackets are recommended for men if you intend on dining at Palo, but they are not required.

Hope this helps - have a wonderful voyage!
