Hello Tiana and welcome to planDisney. Thanks for cruising to us with your question. I can't wait for you to be welcomed aboard the Disney Cruise Line by Captain Minnie in a few short weeks!
It sounds like you are beginning to think about packing for your upcoming voyage. I admit that I probably pull the suitcases out just a little too early, but I can't help it. I just get so excited when a Disney Cruise (
and everything that comes with it) is on the horizon!
This handy packing list on the Disney Cruise Line website is a great reference for when it's time to get the suitcases out.
When it comes to packing prescription medications, the Disney Cruise Line does request that you keep all medications in their original containers and that you also plan to carry your medication in a day bag when you board the ship. Other important items to keep with you in your carry-on bag include your passport or required citizenship documentation, glasses or contact lenses, a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a hat if you'd like to visit the pool shortly after boarding. Your stateroom may not be immediately available when you board the ship and the remainder of your luggage may take a couple of hours to be delivered to your stateroom. Be sure that your day bag is comfortable to carry with you around the ship until your stateroom is ready for you.
My family's first stop when we step on the ship is to find some lunch. We typically head to
Cabanas for a wide variety of menu items and to sit outside and take in the views from the departure port. Did you know that you can also be treated to a lunch served in one of the dining rooms? This is a very relaxing way to begin your cruise. Be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before leaving home. Once you board the ship, it will be your first mate to guide you through available dining options (complete with menus) and all of the entertainment and activities happening around the ship.
I hope that you have a fantastic voyage! Tiana, please visit us again if you have any more questions. We are all ears!
Happy Sailing,
Adrianna
