Hi! Do the cruises from Galveston TX to Pogresso, Mexico and back to Galveston, Tx require passports?

    Ahoy there, Sarah!

Welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you’re getting shipshape for your Very Merrytime sailing from Galveston—and let me just say, sailing during the holidays aboard the Disney Magic is truly the merriest way to cruise. The ship is all decked out (literally), and with festive fun around every corner, it's like stepping into a holiday snow globe—minus the snow, but with way more warm hugs and soft-serve.

Now let’s talk travel documents, because we want to make sure your holiday at sea doesn’t hit any unexpected icebergs.

Since your itinerary is a closed-loop cruise (it starts and ends in the same U.S. port—Galveston), there’s a bit of flexibility with documentation. All Guests are required to present either a valid U.S. passport or the following:

    • U.S. citizens 16 and older: An original state-issued birth certificate (no copies or hospital-issued versions) plus a government-issued photo ID.
    • U.S. citizens 15 and under: Just the original birth certificate will do—no photo ID needed.

While passports aren’t required for this particular sailing, I always recommend bringing one if you have it. If you ever need to fly home from a foreign port due to an unexpected detour in your storybook, it’s your golden ticket home.

And since we’re talking about the Magic—can I just say you are in for a real “once upon a dine” kind of experience at Rapunzel’s Royal Table? It’s my favorite dining venue on any ship! Between the lantern-lit atmosphere, the mischievous thugs from the Snuggly Duckling, and Rapunzel herself, it’s a feast for all the senses. And don’t even get me started on the Birthday Cupcake Sundae... it's so good, I practically paint with the flavors of the wind every time I dig in. And hey, you’re on vacation—if you can’t decide between two desserts, be your own Fairy Godmother and make a little culinary magic by ordering both!

Don’t forget to pack those matching holiday pajamas, keep an eye out for Santa Goofy, and double-check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard to keep track of all the festive fun.

I hope this helps you feel even more prepared for your magical adventure at sea. If any more questions float your way as you get closer to setting sail, please send them our way at planDisney. We’re always happy to be part of your happily-ever-after planning.

Sea ya real soon with a splash of April fun and a boatload of Disney magic,
    Dustin
