Ahoy, Megan, and welcome to planDisney! I can understand wanting to set sail from the Big Apple: sailing past the Statue of Liberty with a Disney ship horn in the background is nothing short of magical.
At this time, Disney Cruise Line is not currently sailing out of New York, and I haven’t heard when or if those departures will return to the schedule. We typically see new itineraries released about 13-18 months in advance, so if anything, it might be the end of 2026 before we see Captain Mickey even thinking of making his return to the northeast. If you haven't already, I suggest
signing up for email updates so you'll be the first to know if King Triton makes a new proclamation.
While that may not be the news you were hoping for, there are still plenty of ways to make your Disney Cruise dreams come true! Disney Cruise Line offers sailings from
four U.S. mainland ports: Port Canaveral and Port Everglades in Florida, Galveston in Texas, and San Diego in California. I personally love how easy it is to fly in and out of Fort Lauderdale, and I know they have direct flights from NYC throughout the day.
On the other hand, if you did want to consider cruising out of
Port Canaveral, you could turn your vacation into a
Land and Sea Package with a stay at Walt Disney World Resort as well. If you want more information on what that could look like,
a friendly Disney Cruise Line representative would be happy to discuss that with you on the phone.
Though the NYC skyline won’t be your backdrop this time, Megan, the beauty of a Disney cruise is that magic awaits wherever you board. Here’s hoping that someday soon, the Disney ships will once again return to New York Harbor. Until then, we’ll be here at
planDisney ready to help with any future questions!
Happy sailing!
