Hi there, Elizabeth, and Welcome Home to the
Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney! I'll be your Captain on this informational voyage, and I'm happy to help with your vacation planning question.
There are many things I love about being a DVC Member, and one of them is having lots of different ways to use my
Vacation Points. A journey beyond the reef on
Disney Cruise Line is a great way to travel with family and friends! I've had the good fortune to sail with DCL on several occasions, most recently with my wonderful planDisney classmates for our training trip. These sailings combine luxury at sea with Disney pixie dust, which makes for a magical vacation indeed!
As an extra-special bonus for Disney Vacation Club Members, DCL offers an annual sailing that is strictly Members-Only (cool 80's jacket optional). These voyages include special Character Greetings, exclusive in-room surprises, entertainment tailor-made for DVC Members, and more!
Members can currently make reservations for the
2024 sailing, a 7-night Mediterranean cruise aboard the
Disney Dream from May 18-25, 2024, departing from Barcelona. Availability is limited, and the
Rule of Four applies here--meaning that you cannot reserve this vacation if the departure date falls within four months of the end of your
Use Year (for example, with my June Use Year, I can't book this cruise at this point).
The
2025 Member Cruise will be among the first sailings on the
Disney Treasure, the newest ship in the DCL fleet! This cruise is a 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary, sailing out of Port Canaveral, Florida from January 4-11, 2025.
If the Member Cruises don't work for your planning purposes, don't despair! Any Disney Cruise Line voyage offers VIP treatment for DVC Members. Members are invited to an exclusive reception on every sailing, and you can visit the DVC desk daily for some fun surprises. I also take full advantage of my DVC merchandise discount when shopping for the perfect onboard souvenir!
To see how many Vacation Points are needed for a cruise, check out the
Points Charts, which show point totals for each DCL itinerary, ship, and room category. Points will vary depending on when you travel, and the number listed is the total points for
one person staying in a double-occupancy cabin. At least one Guest must be booked completely with points; additional Guests may be booked with points, cash, or a combination of the two. Once you select the perfect sailing, call
Member Services to convert your Vacation Points to Reservation Points. A non-refundable fee (currently $95, subject to change) will apply for the transaction.
Wishing you fair winds and following seas as you set sail on your vacation adventure, Elizabeth! Please feel free to
reach out to me directly if I can help with any other questions. Thanks for visiting planDisney!
Bon Voyage!
Susan
