Hi Denise!
I was so happy to see that you visited the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask another great question! We love adding a magical land vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort after sailing the high seas with Captain Mickey! Using
Disney Cruise Line's Ground Transfers from Port Canaveral to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will get your land vacation started off with ease!
Unfortunately, your bags can't be sent directly to your Walt Disney World Resort ahead of you. On the night before debarkation, you'll receive Disney Character-themed luggage tags to place on all your luggage. You'll need to pack your bags and have them outside your stateroom door by roughly 10:00 p.m. Make sure you leave out any medications, toiletries and the next day's clothing because the next time you'll see your bags will be in the Port Canaveral terminal. My family and I do not tag our carry-on luggage and keep it with us in order to store our pajamas and toiletries the next morning.
The morning of debarkation you'll bring anything left in the stateroom along with you to breakfast. After breakfast, you'll say goodbye to your Servers and disembark the ship. Keep your Key to the World Card handy because you'll need to scan it before heading into the baggage claim area inside the terminal. The Guests' luggage will be organized based on the character on your luggage tags from the night before. There will be porters available in this area, too, if you'd like assistance gathering your luggage.
Once you make your way through U.S. Customs with your luggage, pull out your Key to the World Card one final time to show you've booked Ground Transfers back to Walt Disney World. A Cast Member will guide you to the correct bus that will take you to your resort and your luggage will be safely stowed underneath while you and your family board.
Bon Voyage!
Beth
