Hi Donna!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to hEAR you will be heading to sea with Captain Mickey for some fun in the sun!
Disney Cruise Line’s
Port Adventure team offers some really great adventures for Guests when they visit different ports. You can take advantage of those as they are thoroughly organized and really take any guesswork away from you (you just sign up and then show up ready for fun!) or you can simply explore the port area on your own. Or you can even stay on the ship and spend time in the onboard pools or partake in the many activities that go on throughout the day. You will find that Guests will do a variety of those options and it’s really up to you what you decide to do with your day there!
Castaway Cay does offer a lot of options, but you can also really enjoy the beach and play areas there without booking one of the Port Adventures there. When my family visits Castaway Cay we usually rent some floats for the day and spend the day on the beach! You can even pick up some snorkeling equipment to explore the “under the sea”. We have been on the lookout for Nemo underwater and have yet to find him, but maybe you will when you visit!
I would say that if there is an excursion that you simply MUST do, then book that and then plan to explore at your other stop! Nassau has some exciting excursions, but they also have a nice port area that you can walk around and enjoy! And if you stay onboard, use that time to enjoy the
AquaDuck or port day specials at Senses Spa!
Have a magical adventure at sea with many memories made!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
