Ahoy there, Linda! Welcome aboard planDisney!
Ah, been watching the horizon for your Disney Cruise Line ship to come in, have you? Haha - I've definitely been there! My family loves cruising out of New York when we can because it often has some very exciting itineraries!
Now when it comes to those itineraries, they vary from season to season and year to year! So sometimes, you may find the
ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet sailing north up the Canadian coast, and others (like in 2023) you may find them sailing across the seas to
Bermuda. There have been years when a ship has departed New York and called on Port Canaveral, but unfortunately, there aren't any of those itineraries planned for any currently available sailings. But this can change like the tide, and I always suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Cruise Line website for announcements. Who knows what's just around the river bend...or beyond the horizon in this case!
But don't worry, your second question brings favorable winds and calm seas, Linda! One of my favorite ways to enjoy a Disney Cruise Line vacation is by pairing it with a pre- or post-cruise stay at
Walt Disney World Resort! There's even a special term for this:
Disney Vacations by Land and Sea! For cruises departing Port Canaveral,
you can add a visit to Walt Disney World Resort by contacting a crew member by phone to discuss available dates and resort hotels! It's a great way to experience the magic in more ways than one!
One planDrew-approved tip: I always suggest planning to cruise AFTER you stay at Walt Disney World Resort! That way, you can run around doing absolutely everything possible in the parks, and then sail away on the most luxurious, relaxing ships at sea without a care in the world!
I hope that helps you set a course for adventure, Linda! Thank you so much for your question, and if you and your crew have any others as you continue planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Happy planning!
Andrew
