Ahoy, Isabel!
Welcome aboard planDisney! A 9-night voyage to Alaska aboard the
Disney Wonder? Now that’s a cruise that’ll have you feeling on top of the (snow-covered) world!
Alaska is truly breathtaking—glaciers, wildlife, and scenery that will leave you saying, “Oh my Disney!” My family lived in Alaska for three years, and I can honestly say you are in for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Now let’s talk theme nights, because planning your outfits can be almost as exciting as packing your fish extenders! First, keep in mind that all entertainment is subject to change, so once you’ve stepped onboard and the magic officially begins, you’ll want to check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app frequently. It will be your go-to for event times, character meet-and-greets, and all the deck party fun.
While I know many Guests hope for Pirate Night on every cruise (who doesn’t love a good “Yo ho!” moment?), your itinerary does not currently include a Pirate Night. Don’t worry though—Alaska sailings swap out swords and eyepatches for snowflakes and singing sisters. That’s right: your cruise will feature the
Frozen Deck Party instead, and trust me, it’s a showstopper.
Let’s break down your theme nights:
Day 2 (At Sea): It’s time to break out your most enchanting cruise attire for Formal Night! Whether you’re channeling your inner Prince Naveen and Princess Tiana ready for a night of celebration, or simply want to look sharp and feel special, this evening is all about elegance and Disney-style glamour. This is a night for photos, mingling, and making magical memories. Be on the lookout for the Captain’s Welcome Reception—there are often complimentary drinks and a chance to meet the ship’s officers. Say “cheese” in front of those gorgeous backdrops and let the Disney photographers do their thing!
Day 4 (
Stikine Icecap): It’s a Frozen takeover! And I mean that in the most chillingly delightful way possible. You’ll want to pack warm gear—yes, even Olaf-approved layers—because the Frozen Deck Party is held outdoors, and Alaska isn’t exactly tropical. The atrium also gets transformed into a winter wonderland with icy decor, special character appearances, and sometimes even a little snow magic indoors. And don't miss the Frozen-themed dinner that night—while I haven’t tasted it yet myself, I’ve heard it’s Arendelle-level delicious. Bonus points if you spot Sven’s favorite snack on the menu.
Day 8 (At Sea): This will be your Semi-Formal Night. It’s a great excuse to dress up again, maybe not full prince and princess mode this time, but a nice dress or suit will fit right in. As always,
how you dress is totally up to you—Disney lets you create your own style of magic.
I hope this helps you feel even more excited and better prepared as you plan for your enchanted journey through the Last Frontier! Don’t forget to bring binoculars and maybe even a cozy blanket for those early-morning glacier views from your verandah or the upper decks.
Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
Dustin
