Hey there, Randine!
Welcome aboard, planDisney! Thank you for reaching out for information on what is required to set sail with Disney Cruise Line. If you are new to cruising, I know there is a lot to consider, and having the right
documentation to board the ship is an important piece to the process.
Disney Cruise Line always recommends Guests travel with a valid passport, but it is not required for many sailings in the United States. If the cruise departs and returns to the same U.S. port, it is considered a closed-loop cruise, and a valid passport is only recommended. If you do not have a valid passport, you will need to provide a certified copy of your state-issued birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID (Guests 16 and over). This documentation will be needed when you complete your
online check-in and during the check-in process at the cruise terminal. Most of the time, you only need to show your photo ID to disembark the ship after the cruise.
Currently, Disney Cruise Line's 2026 and the first half of 2027 schedule has ships in several U.S.
departure ports, including Port Canaveral, Port Everglades, Port of Galveston, and Port of San Diego. When planning for your travel, you'll want to consider how you'll get to and from the cruise terminal. It's always a good idea to arrive a day early, just in case you experience some unexpected travel delays. Disney Cruise Line partners with area hotels for
pre-cruise stays and offers
ground transportation to the cruise terminal for an additional fee. These details are important to make your land-to-sea transition stress-free.
Randine, it was great to hear from you, and we hope you'll visit us again if you have more questions about
booking a cruise with Captains Mickey and Minnie!
Happy planning,
Nancy
