Hi there! I am going on a cruise with my extended family. I am able to sign up for excursions this evening but they aren't able to until the end of the month. Can I sign up for them this evening as well? Thank you!!

Ahoy there, Autumn! Thank you for pulling alongside here at planDisney with your question about Port Adventures and booking windows! What an exciting time you've reached as your Disney Cruise Line vacation comes over the horizon! If you're anything like me and my family, I'm sure you've had your alarm set for quite some time for the minute you can book activities!

I wish I had better news for you, Autumn, but when it comes to activities, Port Adventures, and other onboard fun like Senses Spa & Salon treatments, reservations are made according to the highest Castaway Club member status in each stateroom. This still applies for linked reservations and won't allow you to book activities for others until their booking window opens.

When my extended family sailed on the Disney Fantasy a few years ago, my wife and I had just become Platinum Castaway Club members, while the rest of my family were either Gold or Silver. This meant we couldn't book for them when our Platinum booking window opened at 120 days prior to our sailing, which was disappointing, but having to wait for the 90-day window to pass wasn't as limiting of our options as we had feared and we were able to book a few Port Adventures all together!

My best suggestion for parties with varying Castaway Club status, though, is to try to stay as flexible as Elastigirl!

For that same sailing, my wife and I booked a few activities for just the two of us, and then, when everyone's booking window opened we were able to book a few of the "must do" activities that were fun for the entire family! When we weren't able to be on the same Port Adventures or activities, it gave us great things to talk about when we all came back together for dinner in the incredible main dining rooms!

From talking about our Jamaica port adventures over escargot in Royal Court, to asking my nieces and nephew about their time in the Disney's Oceaneer Club between visits from Crush in Animator's Palate, the days we couldn't be together actually brought us even closer at mealtime before we headed to the nightly shows and entertainment!

I hope that approach will work for you and your crew as well, Autumn! Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the power to change your fate, to seize your moment, and have your Disney Cruise Line vacation be exactly what you've always DREAMed! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others as you continue planning, we'll be here to help at planDisney!

    Fair winds and following seas,

    Andrew
