Hi Anna,
I think Disney Cruise Line is an EXCELLENT choice - and my fellow cruiser seem to agree. In 2010
Condé Nast Traveler readers named Disney Cruise Line the no. 1 cruise experience in the Annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Not only that,
Travel + Leisure named Disney Cruise Line the Top Family-Friendly Large-Ship Cruise Line in the 2010 World’s Best Awards poll.
The voyages that set sail for the Bahamas stop in
Nassau as well as Disney's private island,
Castaway Cay. Personally, I prefer to make Castaway Cay my "beach" destination, so Nassau can be more of a historical exploration of this foreign port. I highly recommend booking an excursion through Disney Cruise Line if this is your first visit - each adventure has DCL personnel overseeing the schedule so you are sure to maximize your time on the island, yet make it back to the ship on time! The
Nassau Forts & Junkanoo Discovery is a great choice if you're looking to immerse yourself in the local history. If you are looking for a excellent aquarium experience - I recommend
Discover Atlantis. Some of the excursions include lunch, or the opportunity to purchase lunch. The ship's dining services operate while in port, so you can eat onboard as well.
While at Castaway Cay, lunch is included and provided on the island at
Cookies BBQ.
I hope this helps!
