Ahoy, Rosemarie!
Thanks for bringing such an important question to planDisney as you get ready to sail away very soon on your
Disney Cruise Line vacation! I’m happy to share the information you can pass on to your friends and family in case of an emergency. While I love the escape from reality that a cruise provides, it’s important to have that safety line to connect as needed – no message in a bottle required!
Your loved ones on land in the United States can reach you on the ship by calling
1-888-DC-AT-SEA (1-888-322-8732). They will need to know your name, ship, and stateroom number so please share those details with them as well as the phone number. For international calls from shore to ship, the phone number is +1 732-335-3281. All calls will incur a fee and calls are limited to ten minutes in length. I'm hoping this isn't needed for any emergency at home while you are away, but am glad that your loved ones can have reassurance of how to get in touch with you.
If you both have Apple devices, iMessage can be used for text-only messages (no video or photos can be seen), and the mobile app WhatsApp also has consistent reliability at sea. Both methods can be used with your device in airplane mode while connected to the
DCL-GUEST WiFi network onboard (no internet package purchase required).
I hope this gives you peace of mind and enables you to truly relax on your upcoming vacation, Rosemarie! There’s something so very special about a Disney Cruise Line vacation and I hope you have a fantastic time at sea!
Bon voyage,
Amy
