If we are going on a cruise and only to Disney's island, do we need passports for our 3 and 5 y/o

    Ahoy there, Abigail!

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy you're looking forward to a Disney Cruise Line vacation with your little Mouseketeers. Bringing the correct travel documentation is critical, so let's "dive" right in and answer your question!

Travel documentation requirements depend on the port you are sailing from and your destination. For round-trip cruises originating from Port Canaveral, Miami, Galveston, San Diego, San Juan, New Orleans, and New York, children under the age of 15 may travel with an original state-issued birth certificate. Hospital-issued birth certificates or copies are not acceptable. Because travel documentation requirements are set by the US State Department and are subject to change I recommend you check the Passports, Visas & Citizenship page for updates before your trip.

Another helpful resource is the Know Before You Go page. As you might guess, this is the perfect place to check for any updates about your cruise. I also recommend that you spend some time on the website getting to know your cruise ship so you know what activities you want to put on your "not to be missed" list!

Abigail, I am thrilled that soon you'll be relaxing on the beautiful Castaway Cay! I hope you'll come to visit us again if you have more questions before you depart for your adventure!

    Keep moving forward!
