Hi there, Emily!
Welcome to planDisney! Sailing on the Disney Cruise Line is one of my favorite ways to spend time with my family. There are so many things for us to do, both together and separately. My kids love spending time in
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Disney's Oceaneer Lab, which are activity centers just for kids ages 3 to 10 and are supervised by youth counselors. While our kids are doing fun activities in Disney's Oceaneer Club, my spouse and I enjoy hanging out in one of the
adult-only areas. Afterward, we usually pick up the kids, grab a snack, and play in the pools together. It is so much fun!
To book a Disney Cruise, select
"Plan a Cruise" at the top of the Disney Cruise Line website. Sometimes it is easier to see this on a computer instead of your phone. This is where you can see a list of cruises currently available. There are also a variety of possible filters to narrow your search results, including date, destination, number of nights, and more. Once you find a cruise that you like, choose the blue box that says "Show Date" underneath that itinerary. Select your preferred sailing date and choose "Continue". From there, click on "View Staterooms".
There are many different types of staterooms. I prefer a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah because I love having a private verandah where we can enjoy breakfast in the morning or soak in the fresh air when our kids go to bed early. I also like midship staterooms on a higher deck. There tends to be less movement in the middle of the ship, and I like being close to the pool deck, which is usually on one of the highest decks. After that, you can choose your stateroom and begin the purchasing process!
I recommend 5-night sailings for new cruisers. This amount of time gives you plenty of opportunities to explore the ship and enjoy the amenities without spending an entire week at sea. It will also help you determine if you want to sail on a Disney Cruise again (I highly recommend it!). If you end up loving Disney Cruises as much as I do, you may want to take advantage of the
Disney Cruise Line Onboard Booking Offer while on your first Disney Cruise! The placeholder can only be booked while sailing on a Disney Cruise and allows Guests to enjoy a discounted rate on a future cruise (subject to change).
Emily, if you need additional help with booking your Disney Cruise, you can
call Disney Cruise Line. planDisney is also happy to answer additional questions!
Happy sailing!
