Our cruise in August on the Magic is coming up soon. Can you give us an idea of how much gratuity I need to pay? Is the amount the same for children too? And do you give the envelope in person or do you leave it somewhere?

    Hi Justine!

You're trip is almost here!  You must be so excited that it's so close!  I totally understand how you feel.  When I was on my first cruise, I had no idea what or how to tip.  Here are the Gratuities and Tipping guidelines suggested by Disney Cruise Line.  They make it super simple to follow.  I also believe that it's very reasonable.  In my opinion, the service that you receive on a Disney ship does not compare to any other cruise line.  You'll be absolutely spoiled.

You are welcome to call Disney Cruise Line at (800)951-3532 to prepay your gratuities.  It will definitely make planning your trip a lot easier.  On the evening before you disembark, you will receive small envelopes in your stateroom (delivered during turndown service)  You can either put cash in there, or do what I prefer, which is to go to Guest Services and have them charge the gratuities to your credit card on file.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.  I'm really excited for you!  Have a magical trip!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
