Is the Cruise Approved Power Strip (Royal Caribbean, Disney & More) - Non Surge Charger [2 USB, 2 USB-C] 4-Port Charging Block w/Foldable Plug for iPhone, iPad, Laptops & More - Cruise Ship Essentials 2025 approved for Disney cruises?

    Hi there, Steven,

Thanks for being mindful of the important safety standards for your Disney Cruise Line ship. As indicated by the prohibited and restricted items list, "extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs and surge protectors" are strictly prohibited. In my experience, this is meant to describe devices that plug into an A/C power outlet and are designed to output A/C power to one or more receptacles on the device.

Ultimately, it is up to the trained Disney Cruise Line Cast Members and crew under the direction of your ship's Chief Electrical Engineer to determine if an item is safe to bring on board. So I can't give a definitive answer related to your specific device. Though, what you are describing sounds pretty similar to what I have used on our Disney cruise vacations. I have been allowed to take my multi-port USB charger (single A/C power input with multiple, low-power USB outputs) on several Disney cruise ships over the past few years.

For the safety of all passengers and crew, the prohibited items list is subject to change. And crew members have discretion to determine if items found in inspected luggage and carry-on bags will be permitted. Depending on your situation, it may be helpful to have a backup plan, just in case. For example, your stateroom will likely come equipped with multiple USB-A ports to use for charging your DisneyBand+ and your device for accessing the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. If you have a device that normally uses a USB-C cable, you might consider bringing an adapter to convert from USB-A to USB-C or a dedicated A/C to USB-C charger.

Tony's Tip: I'm guessing you are planning to have a fully-charged device for using the Navigator app. The Navigator is great for looking up activities and the main dining room menus each day. You can even select future days on your cruise to get a feel for whether a particular activity or character appearance on a current day will be a one-time experience or a recurrent event. I also like to look up menus for future days so I can look forward to all that yummy food!

I hope you have a marvelous time on your Disney cruise vacation, Steven. If you've got any more questions, we'd love to hear them here at planDisney. It's a pleasure helping out a fellow Guest.

    Bon voyage, Steven!
    ~Tony
