How are the crowds the last week of Aug.?Traveling 8/24-8/30, last year visited end of Sept., lines were not bad at all.Worried the lines will be much longer this time!Just trying to plan ahead so we know what to expect!Thnx!

Hi, Diana!  You will almost always find my family down at Disney World the same time you are expecting to be there this year.  Many of the schools in the south start classes that week (a few even earlier), and the crowds seem to begin to thin out at the theme parks a bit.  You will probably see crowds a bit bigger than you did at the end of September, but I always find the lines to be manageable, and in some cases, we haven't even had to use Fast Passes on some things like Buzz Lightyear or Kali River Rapids at that time of year.

Something else you might want to consider is the heat and humidity.  By the end of September, while it is still quite warm in Central Florida, the fall season is beginning to arrive, and the humidity levels are starting to decrease.  At the end of August, you can expect very high humidity, very little breeze, and temperatures that easily reach into the 90s.  You may encounter a brief shower in the afternoons, which here in Jersey would mean a bit of a cool down.  In Orlando, it means there will be steam coming up from the concrete, creating a sauna-like effect.  Remember to stay well hydrated, and you might want to use the strategy my family uses.  We try to space outdoor attractions so that we are doing something indoors in the air conditioning, then one thing outdoors in the heat.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
