how are the crowds in early may and what is the weather like usually? just 9 days until my Disney trip.

    Hi Nathan,

The countdown of days to your Walt Disney World vacation is in single digits now - that's so exciting!

I think that you are coming at a great time of year.  The average high temperatures in May in Orlando are in the upper-80s Fahrenheit.  It may be quite warm, but not nearly as hot as it will be in the summer.  There are often rain showers in Florida, but the good news is that these are typically passing.  It is rare that it will rain all day; you are more likely to have a rain shower that lasts an hour or two and then clears up.  You should find shorts and short sleeve shirts quite comfortable in the theme parks during the day - and throw a rain poncho in your bag just in case!  The average lows at night are in the mid-60s Fahrenheit in May, so you might want to bring some long pants and a light jacket for the evenings.

I imagine that the parks will be less crowded in early May than at many other times of year.  Of course, there are always people at Walt Disney World, but you will be likely to find less people in early May.  Most school spring breaks are already over, and summer break is just around the corner, so you are going during an in-between time, which should keep the crowds lower.

You've chosen a great time of year to visit Walt Disney World, Nathan!  Enjoy the nice weather and the reasonable crowds.  Please come back and ask if you have any further questions!
