How are the crowd levels at Walt Disney Parks starting on New Year's Day?

    Howdy David!

New Year's Day is typically pretty busy (this is my completely unscientific figure but I'm giving it a 5 out of 5 on capacity).

With New Year's Day on a Wednesday in 2014, I'm anticipating that crowds will continue to be rather heavy through the weekend.  Beginning late afternoon on Sunday, you should see a significant decrease.  The crowd levels have historically stayed fairly light through the first two to three weeks of February.

Don't let the crowd levels scare you away.  Being prepared for the crowds is key.  Be sure to take advantage of the MyMagic+ technology Disney has introduced.  Make FastPass+ selections and when possible, take advantage of Extra Magic Hours.  Most importantly, enjoy every moment of your vacation!!!

Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any further information as you plan your vacation. Have a magical day!
