From my experience, a credit to your personal accounts can take a few days to show up, it truly depends on your banking institution.
As you wait, make sure to have the confirmation of your credit or cancellation flagged in your email. For example, if you cancelled a hotel stay, you should have received a cancellation email. Within that email, it would have the total credit you're receiving and the card it’s going to.
Simply check your personal accounts and look for that specific amount to show up. After a cancellation is made, you can always follow up with your bank as well to confirm and check on the processing.
