Hello there, Hongnan!
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it. I’m glad you stopped by planDisney, where we can help address any questions about theme park entry and offer our best tips and tricks to make the most of your vacation.
Hongnan, only people currently residing in Florida can take advantage of the
Florida Resident discounts. If you plan on using a Florida Resident ticket, you will need to show
valid proof of residency for each Guest to activate your ticket if they are over the age of 18. Valid proof of residency includes a valid Florida driver’s license (with a Florida address), a valid Florida state-issued ID card (with a Florida address), or a Valid Florida-based military ID. This can be done on the Walt Disney World Resort website or at a ticket window at any of the four theme parks or
Guest Services at Disney Springs. A guardian needs to be present to show their proof of residency to activate tickets for any Guests who are under the age of 18.
If you don’t have those previously mentioned valid proof of residency documents, you must provide one of the following (dated within the past two months) to provide evidence of a Florida residential address, along with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver’s license, state identification card): monthly mortgage statement, homeowner’s insurance policy or bill, current automobile registration, insurance policy or bill, current utility bill (power, phone, cable, water). Each Guest will need to have their name on these documents to show Guest Services at each of the theme parks or Disney Springs. However, if you have a valid Florida ID, I’ve heard from family that it is very convenient to provide proof of Florida residency online on the Walt Disney World website when purchasing tickets.
Last, but not least, make sure to figure out whether or not you’ll need a theme park reservation for when you plan on visiting. Beginning January 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. Therefore, you’ll want to check your admission type to confirm whether or not you’ll need a reservation.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
