I use a CPAP machine, am I able to get distilled water on the Disney Wonder? We will be sailing out of Vancouver on September 28th Also, can I bring an extension cord for the cpap?

Ahoy, Angela! Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for sailing over with your question about Disney Cruise Line. My husband uses a CPAP machine and we just sailed aboard the Disney Wonder last month, so I am very familiar with your particular concerns.

There is no need to worry because Disney Cruise Line ensures that you have everything that you need to use your CPAP machine. There is a Special Services Information Form that you can fill out prior to sailing and the first option listed under Medical Equipment is a request for distilled water for those traveling with CPAP machines. If you fill that form out, then the distilled water is typically already waiting for you in your stateroom on embarkation day. However, you can also notify your stateroom host or hostess that you need distilled water or go to the Guest Services Desk located on Deck 3, Midship to ask for it. Sometimes we have received a whole gallon, but other times they have provided regular sized water bottles specifically containing distilled water.

Since every stateroom is set up a little bit differently, you will not know your exact electrical outlet situation until you step onboard. When we recently sailed on the Disney Wonder, there was an electrical outlet right next to my husband’s side of the bed that he was able to use without needing an extension cord, but he has needed to request an extension cord on some of our other sailings. It will depend on the layout of your particular stateroom and the placement of the electrical outlets near the bed. If you find that you are going to need an extension cord or some other type of outlet adaptor, then just stop by the Guest Services Desk and they will be happy to assist you. They will let you borrow whatever you need to run your medical device free of charge as long as you return it on debarkation day. Unfortunately, you cannot bring your own extension cord because the list of Prohibited and Restricted Items includes extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs and surge protectors.

I hope that clears up any concerns that you may have about sailing with your CPAP machine. Disney Cruise Line truly is where magic meets the sea and the cast members will make sure that you have everything that you need during your time onboard. If you have any other last minute questions before you set sail, then we are always here to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
