How much does COVID testing cost in Port Canaveral and how does it work?

Ahoy there, Susan! Welcome aboard planDisney! Thanks for sailing my way with your question about Covid-19 Testing prior to your sailing from Port Canaveral!

The winds of change are blowing, and the Know Before You Go information continues to be updated with the latest information on this topic, so we'll step through it based on the most recent update on September 2, 2022. The first thing to remember is that as of this update, Disney Cruise Line requires Guests ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated at the time of sailing, and encourages all others to do so as well!

Beginning with sailings on September 23, 2022 on the Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish, fully vaccinated guests will no longer require proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to embarkation. This goes into effect on November 7th, 2022 for the Disney Magic.

However, if you're embarking before this change happens on September 23, 2022, proof of a negative test one to two days prior to your sailing will be required. I definitely suggest visiting the "Pre-Cruise Checklist: Know Before You Go"  for the latest updates.

Generally, you have a few options for pre-trip testing, most of which are facilitated through Inspire Diagnostics via the Safe Passage website or through a third-party testing site like a local pharmacy or doctor's office. It's important to remember that all tests must come with digital results that can be uploaded to the Safe Passage website. Fully vaccinated Guests who do not upload test results to the Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day must be tested at the terminal on embarkation day before boarding and will be charged for the cost of the test.

As of September 6th, an at-port antigen test will cost $77.63 per Guest, and if for any reason that test is positive, a confirmatory PCR test is $98.33. Pricing is subject to change, but as of this message, it will likely be less costly for you and your crew to perform any required testing before you arrive using one of the approved options in the Before You Leave Home checklist!

Hopefully, that helps you set a course for the best testing options for smooth sailing, Susan! If you still have specific questions about the testing process, you can contact Inspire Diagnostics at 877-250-5132 or DCLsupport@inspirediagnostics.com.

Thank you so much for your question, Susan! I wish you fair winds, following seas, and negative test results!
