Hey there, Judy! Thanks for bringing another great question to us here at planDisney!
From Mr. Incredible to Moana, from Hiro to Hercules, from Baloo to Baymax, I have yet to come across a Disney character I didn't love, so I'm thrilled to talk with you about
the current state of character dining around the Walt Disney World Resort.
Judy, being able to pair character encounters with great food is a recipe for Magic and my family and I always squeeze in a few character meals while we are on vacation. As the Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating with some enhanced health and safety measures, these do look a bit different, but I'm happy to report that there are still great options.
Since you specifically mentioned these, at Magic Kingdom Park,
Be Our Guest Restaurant is serving lunch and dinner with a prix fixe menu. While there is no guarantee or schedule, at this location the Beast has been known to walk through and occasionally growl
(... I mean, smile!) at guests. Another favorite prix fixe option at this park,
Cinderella's Royal Table is also open and welcoming Royal diners. While the Princesses are not currently in residence, the atmosphere is fit for a King.
If you're hoping to catch a socially distanced photo with Mickey Mouse himself, I would encourage you to check out
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Topolino's Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera at Disney's Riviera Resort and
Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT. At these locations, you'll see favorite characters wandering through the restaurant and waving at their adoring fans. Judy, my family and I enjoyed breakfast at Topolino's Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera with the new health and safety modifications and we were so happy we did. The characters paraded through the restaurant to the cutest music and we were able to interact with them from a safe distance. We were also able to snag a few fun selfies as they were near our table.
Another great choice is located over at Disney's Hollywood Studios:
Hollywood & Vine. Here Minnie Mouse shows off her seasonal outfits with a festive party atmosphere. This restaurant is also a
prix fixe menu served at your table with a choice of salad, entrée and dessert.
Judy, I hope this helps as you are thinking ahead to your May vacation. As you're continuing to plan, I'll encourage you to keep a close eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as you never know when Tinker Bell will sprinkle her pixie dust over another restaurant with character Magic.
Best wishes, Judy, for a trip that is delicious in every sense of the word. I hope you'll come back with any other questions you might have.
Bon appétit!
Lauren
