My cousin and her husband will be visiting from West Virginia with their two children. I’m A Florida resident and annual passholder. Can I purchase their tickets in advance and give them to them at the Florida resident rate?

Hi, Jennifer! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Don’t you just love being a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder? Although my family and I aren’t Florida residents, we definitely enjoy the perks that come with our annual passes. As Florida residents, though, you get one perk that we don’t, though, and that’s discounted tickets to Walt Disney World Resort! The current Discover Disney Ticket is one such offer, but you must present proof of Florida residency to activate it (and any other special offers geared toward Florida residents). If your cousin’s children are under 18, you can purchase discounted tickets for them, though, and activate them using your Florida proof of residence. Your cousin and her husband, however, will need to purchase their tickets at the regular price (which they can do in person at any Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park ticket window or the new Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs or online).

The biggest benefit of purchasing tickets in advance, though, is the ability to book FastPass+ experiences up to 30 days in advance of your visit (or up to 60 days in advance if you’re staying at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel).  If you’re all connected through your Family & Friends lists on My Disney Experience, you can plan FastPasses together, too!

Hopefully these tips will help you and your family have a Magical vacation together at The Most Magical Place on Earth, Jennifer. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan.
