Hi, Courtney! My brother will be celebrating his 50th birthday with his wife and boys at DLR in April. The boys are 12, 15 and 18. Staying at Grand Californian. So far, they have booked Carthay Circle for dinner. Recommend any special experiences?

    Hi, Jacqui!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for visiting me with your great question. I’m thrilled to hear your brother and his family will be celebrating at The Happiest Place on Earth! There’s no better place to spend a special occasion.

I’m glad they plan to dine at Carthay Circle Restaurant for dinner. It’s my favorite fine-dining restaurant in both theme parks because of the glamorous 1930s-Hollywood atmosphere and top-notch cuisine. I suggest they take advantage of a World of Color dining package to enjoy a fantastic meal followed by a viewing of the popular nighttime spectacular from a prime, reserved viewing location. They can even order a custom bakery cake in advance to enjoy after a meal at any table-service restaurant by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463).

Another way to make the trip special is to book one of Disneyland Resort’s guided tours. There are several to choose from, and the Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps Guided Tour that is currently offered even includes an exclusive peek at Walt’s original apartment in Town Square!

Fantasmic! is my all-time favorite Disney Parks show, and premium reserved viewing is also available as part of a dessert sampler package. The sweet treats, front-row seats and beverage service throughout the show make it a phenomenal way to experience this unique nighttime spectacular! They can call (714) 781-SHOW (7469) for information and availability.

Of course, be sure to remind your brother to stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park or Guest Relations in Disney California Adventure Park to pick up a complimentary birthday celebration button so he will receive well wishes from Cast Members during the entire visit. I hope this helps, Jacqui, and that your brother’s family enjoys a perfectly pixie-dusted vacation to the Disneyland Resort next month!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
