Hi Courtney! If you only had time to experience one Character Meal during a trip to Disneyland, which one would you choose and why? I have one 9-year old Son whos favourite Disney Character is Pluto.

Hi, Emma! I’m so glad to hear that you’re planning a trip to “the Happiest Place on Earth!”

If I had to pick just one character dining location, I would choose breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen, which is located at the Disneyland Hotel. It has a much wider food selection than some of the other morning character dining options that only offer standard breakfast fare. In addition to buffet-style breakfast food, Goofy’s Kitchen also offers brunch items, made-to-order omelets, a variety of desserts, a soft serve sundae bar and more food choices specifically for kids. In fact, my family just dined there this past weekend, and my son loved the Mickey-shaped waffles, chicken nuggets, and pizza choices, which included peanut butter and jelly and macaroni and cheese!

While the character lineup varies from day to day for all of the character breakfasts at the Disneyland Resort, I think you have the best chance of meeting Pluto, your son’s favorite character, at Goofy’s Kitchen. We have seen him every time we've dined at that location, and he is often stationed at the front of the restaurant for group photos with parties as they arrive, in addition to personally visiting tables. Other characters we met during our most recent meal included Dale, Rafiki, Goofy and Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother.

If you can, I suggest making the earliest reservation possible, which is 7:00 a.m. That way, you have the rest of the morning to enjoy the theme parks. Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463). I hope this information helps, Emma! Please feel free to ask me any other questions as you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
