Hi Courtney! My family has been to WDW many times and we are considering 1st trip to Disneyland 12/26-12/30 this year. I know it will be busy. How are crowds compared to WDW? Will it be tough to see and do all that we'll want to do? Thanks! :-)

    Hi, Amy!

I’m so glad to hear that you’re planning a trip to “The Happiest Place on Earth!” Although the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is a very popular time to visit the Disneyland Resort, I've done it multiple times and was still able to enjoy much of what the resort has to offer, especially when I had at least four days to fit in all those magical experiences. There's nothing like visiting the Disneyland Resort when it's all decked out for the holiday season!

I recommend that you stay at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels so you’re able to take advantage of early entry and access the exclusive Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa entrance to Disney California Adventure Park. Being one of the first Guests to enter and snag a FASTPASS for Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land or World of Color is a huge benefit of staying on Disney property! Although the theme parks will likely be crowded, park hours will be extended and the entertainment schedule will be booming, so there should be many opportunities to experience your “must-dos” if you have a plan in place and take advantage of Disney FASTPASS Service.

Another tip is to remember to get a hand stamp when leaving one park to go to the other in the same day. This is a policy that sometimes catches Walt Disney World regulars off guard. It becomes even more important when crowds are heavy and park attendance approaches maximum capacity, because it's possible that new visitors (those without a hand stamp indicating they've already been in the parks that day) could be turned away.

Please let me know if you have any more questions as you plan your pixie-dusted vacation, Amy!

    Wishing you magic,
