In a couple of weeks I'm going for one day only to magic kingdom with 5 adults and a 2 year old - can we see it all? What is on the 'must do' list? Is it worth staying for the fireworks?

    Hi Fiona,

There's so much to see and do at Walt Disney World that there's never time to do everything, but let me give you some of the things I think are "must do" for a day at Magic Kingdom.

On the day of your visit, the park hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The park closes at 7 p.m. to guests who do not have tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I recommend arriving early to be in place by 7:45 a.m. for the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show.

Some of the rides I think are must dos, especially if it's your first visit or the first visit in a long time:

    Dumbo the Flying Elephant
    'it's a small world"
    Haunted Mansion
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    Peter Pan's Flight
    Pirates of the Caribbean
    Space Mountain
    Splash Mountain
    Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
(My favorite ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, is undergoing refurbishment right now.)

You also won't want to miss the Festival of Fantasy Parade at 5 p.m. It travels from Frontierland, in front of Cinderella Castle and down Main Street USA. Other entertainment that day is listed at this link.

If you haven't already, I suggest you make FastPass+ reservations for three rides or attractions in advance. Then you can plan the rest of your day around those reservations.

I'm out of space, but I hope this helps. Please send other questions you have as you make your plans. Enjoy!
