For 3 (couple and a single) people, would it be more budget firendly with a family suite or 2 standard rooms

    Hiya Daniel!

Welcome to planDisney! Our friends from Australia have to use a travel agent when booking so prices are not available to me or on the official Walt Disney World Australian website. I can only use the US site to help answer your question but I can't quote any prices as I don't know if there are any special deals available to you and the prices are not in Australian dollars.

Just to note, before we start this pricing journey, all prices will fluctuate between now and October 2025. I looked at the prices at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, for a trip in the next few weeks and the Family Suites (any theme) are approximately double the price of The Little Mermaid Standard Room. You could book two standard rooms and find that your room expense is the same but it may be slightly more expensive to get the Family Suite. However, with the Family Suites, you get the bonus of two full restrooms along with three sleeping options. I also want to share that it is not guaranteed that you will get adjoining rooms or even rooms near each other when you purchase two standard rooms. You can submit a request through your travel agent but it is just a request and not a guarantee.

When looking at prices I want to share something that I feel is not well known. Disney's All-Star Music Resort has family suites in the Jazz Inn and Calypso buildings with 1 Queen Bed and 2 Queen Pull-Down beds. There are also 2 full bathrooms as well! The prices are a little less but the ratio is the same. A standard is half the price or so of a family suite. The family suites in my honest opinion are my preferred option when I don't mind my roommates. They are pretty spacious, have a little kitchenette which is not found in the standard rooms, and tend to have two full bathrooms for privacy. There is usually a bedroom with a door as well for even more separation.

I would see what special offers can be applied to your trip and even after booking it, I would still keep an eye out as you may be able to modify it for the new deal. In addition, I would consider the value of the amenities for each option. Would a kitchenette help save you money as you can microwave some meals? I used to make some warm oatmeal and cups of macaroni and cheese for the family during our stay in the suites. I would order the groceries for delivery from Amazon Fresh or Garden Grocer on my trips online and it would be waiting for me when I arrived with Bell Services. I loved having simple and affordable meal and snack solutions.

I hope this helps and you have a lovely time!

    Happy Planning!
