Couple of questions: I have tickets and signed up for my fast passes, but what are magic bands and do i need them. Also, where is best place to eat economically in the magic kingdom. Planning on bringing snacks and paying for just one big meal each day.

    Hey, Christine!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You have come to the right place. Let's get all your magical questions sorted out.

With MagicBands you have the luxury of wearing your theme park tickets, FastPass+ reservations and Disney's PhotoPass photos. Yep...I said "wear them." MagicBands provide a way for Guests of Disney Resort hotels to easily make purchases, link Disney PhotoPass photos, FastPass+ entitlements, Disney Dining Plan credits, theme park tickets for admission and function as room keys. There are hundreds of designs including plain colors, fancy logos and pictures of your favorite attractions and Disney personalities.

Non-Disney Resort hotel Guests may use MagicBands for theme park admission, Disney's PhotoPass photos and FastPass+ reservations only.

You do not need a MagicBand. I just returned from a trip where most people used admission cards instead of MagicBands without any trouble

There are so many fantastic dining options at Magic Kingdom Park. All the menus and prices are found on the restaurant's web page. Our favorite economical eateries are Pinocchio Village Haus for pizza, Cosmic Rays Starlight Café for burgers, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe for Mexican and Casey's Corner for hot dogs because all have indoor seating to get out of the heat. Even if these are not your favorite, know there is something there for everyone.

Disney Dad Tip: Bringing your own snacks is practically perfect in every way to ensure your family has special treats they like to eat. If you want to, while in the theme park, you can scope out a special Disney treat to split. A classic Disney shareable treat is a themed caramel apple. Cast members will slice it for you so everyone can have a taste.

Christine, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
