Hi! I have a couple of questions. My boyfriend and I are planning on visiting WDW June 3rd - June 8th. We are planning on staying at POF. Would you recommend renting a car and would you also recommend getting a dining plan for 2 people? Thanks!!

    Hi Kaitlyn,

Whether you rent a car during your Walt Disney World vacation is a very personal decision.  If you are looking to squeeze every minute of fun out of your time there, renting a car can be a good idea.  My family often rents a car during our trips because we like to minimize time spent in transit between destinations on property. We'd rather spend time enjoying attractions rather than waiting for a bus.  However, if you and your boyfriend plan to move about Walt Disney World at a more relaxed pace, there really is no need to rent a car.  Complimentary Disney transportation in the form of buses, boats, and monorails is delightful.  A rental car is an unnecessary expense.

The Disney Dining Plan, however, is a fabulous decision in my opinion.  I love it's flexibility and how easy it is to use.  We've traveled with and without the Disney Dining Plan and I've noticed that we save considerable money on food when we have the Plan.  If you have any questions about which plan to choose, feel free to post a follow-up question.  I love questions about dining at Walt Disney World!

Best wishes to you as you plan your magical escape to Disney's Port Orleans Resort!
