Hello, I have a couple questions. I bought tickets for my 10 year old daughter and my mother to go to Disneyworld in March for my daughters birthday. Would it be okay if she goes to Disneyworld with just my mother and not me or her dad? Thanks!

Hey there, Alejandra! Welcome to planDisney!

In just a few short weeks, your little princess will get the chance to celebrate her birthday at The Walt Disney World Resort, thanks in part to amazing parents and a fantastic grandmother! And if we're honest, our kids probably prefer to travel with grandparents because they get to run about rule-free! This is especially true on a Disney Vacation where snacks are plentiful, and sleep is not required. Remember Gramma Tala from Moana? She encouraged Moana to embrace the water against her father’s wishes. I don’t know about you all, but this sounds just like my parents encouraging the kids to do the exact opposite of what I say! Where are the people who raised me? But I digress.

Walt Disney World’s policy is that Guests older than 14 accompany children under the age of 14 to the resort. So, your mother will have no problem hanging out at Disney World with her granddaughter. Now if Gramma is not older than 14, I don’t have any other options for you! I would also like to suggest that your mother teach a class to my parents on how to be better grandparents by taking their grands to Disney World alone! Sorry, this seems to be a touchy subject for me.

This birthday is sure to be extra special for your princess. Be sure to remind your mom to grab her a Celebration Button from the Cast Member at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel check-in. This “Happy Birthday” button will help everyone see who the real princess is! And you never know what extra bits of magic come about by sharing your special occasion with Walt Disney World. The World’s Most Magical Celebration has space to share its beauty and magic with your daughter. Sending lots of pixie dust your way!

I hope this helps, Alejandra! The magic awaits!

    Until Next Time,
