    Hi Moms, I have a couple questions about Aulani, How close is the nearest grocery store? Do they have barbeque grills at the hotel? and I heard they have some sort of daily hotel tax do you know how much this is? Thanks you for your help!

    Aloha Kimberly!  Thanks so much for your questions about Aulani - A Disney Resort & Spa.  You have heard correctly that there are various taxes on the accommodations at Aulani.  If you are staying on Disney Vacation Club points, there will be a Transient Accommodation Tax of 9.25% X 1/2 of the Aulani maintenance fee X the number of points used.  Confusing, I know, but you should budget approx $75 - $100 depending on the season, type of accommodation and length of stay.  It will be charged to you at checkout.  For guests paying cash for their rooms, the tax is just under 14% of the total.

    Now, for a more pleasant topic, YES, there are barbecue grills available at Aulani and there is a small, but well-stocked grocery store in the plaza across the street.  If you are looking for something larger, you could head into Kapolei where you will find a Costco or Target and the like.  Kapolei is about 4 miles from Aulani, so not too far.
