I have a couple of old Disney Magic Bands that show on “MyDisneyExperience” as being “active”. Does that mean they are still operational and can be used for my upcoming trip in January 2026?

    Hey there, Richard!

One of the best things about MagicBands is that they’re built to last. If your MagicBand is still showing as “active” in your My Disney Experience account, you’re good to go. It can still be used on your next trip!

MagicBands don’t require charging (unless it's a MagicBand+), and they stay linked to your Disney account, so you can use them to enter the parks, tap into Lightning Lane entrances, and even unlock your Disney Resort hotel room if you're staying on property.

Just be sure to double-check its status under the "MagicBands and Cards" section before you travel. And if you're using a MagicBand+, remember to charge it the night before so it's ready for all those magical moments, especially ones that light up and interact with shows around the parks!

While you're on your Disney vacation and decide to upgrade your MagicBand, a Cast Member can assist you with getting it linked to your account.

Have the most magical time on your Disney vacation, Richard. If you find that you have more questions, please don't hesitate to stop by again. We're here to help!
