Couple of Fort Wilderness questions: 1. Do the bunk beds have a weight limit? 2. Has construction/removal of the old cabins begun yet? Will it be going on in January 2024? Thanks!

    Hi Amy, welcome to planDisney!

I am so excited for you and your upcoming experience in The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! It is, hands down, my family’s favorite resort stay, and I can not sing its praises enough.

I did make contact to double-check, and there is no stated weight limit for the bunkbeds, but I can tell you from experience that I have tried out the top bunk (for myself), and it was sturdy for the timeframe I was up there. If there is a size concern, there is a queen-sized bed (in the bedroom) and a pull-out sofa in the living area, and both are comfy.

Construction of the new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness has not begun yet, and currently, there is no available information regarding a start date for the project. However, when I heard the news about the cabins, I started planning my next stay (in my head). In the meantime, go and enjoy your time at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort; you will love every second of it.

If you can, rent a golf cart while you are there. It is such a fun and convenient way to maneuver around the property. We use it to grab a bite to eat, park and take the water taxi to the theme parks, and even enjoy an early morning or late evening drive to see the sights.

We will be here if you have additional questions prior to your arrival.

    Have a magical experience!
