I understand the convenience of using a surge protector, but that's actually a
prohibited item. In fact, extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs, and surge protectors are not allowed on board Disney Cruise Line ships. Items like these, as well as anything else that may be considered a safety risk, would be confiscated during the security screening process. You can find the
complete list of prohibited and restricted items on the Disney Cruise Line website.
Whether a single plug with different ports is permitted depends on what those ports are. If the plug expands into different power outlets, that would likely be considered a power strip and wouldn't be allowed. However, a standard charging hub with USB-A or USB-C ports that plugs into a single outlet should be fine. I've brought a compact four-port USB wall charger on my previous Disney cruises without any issues. My suggestion is to keep it simple and avoid features like surge protection that could cause it to be flagged.
I've also found USB ports in the staterooms I've stayed in – they're usually near the bed and desk. The number and type vary by ship, but that may be another option for you. Just bring a few USB cords that can plug directly into the port.
Ahead of your cruise, make sure you have the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. You can view activity and entertainment schedules, see when to meet Characters, check your rotational dining details, and more. With your phone charged and ready to go, you'll be all set to take full advantage of the app.
